It's so hard to get/stay sober

Its so hard to get and stay sober when you live in a very 'social' area. Living and growing up in the Bay Area, you're exposed to alcohol as soon as you turn 15/16. I've been drinking for over half my life. My longest time sober was 8 months. Since then, I've relapsed multiple times, only able to stay sober for a few weeks at a time.

Why is alcohol always the center of social settings?

Shireen.. I remember back when I lived up on Telegraph Hill and in the Marina district. Everytime I'd go out alcohol was everywhere. You can't get away from it.
Why is alcohol always the center of social settings? Because it's liquid courage.

A pivot point in my recovery was realizing it wasn't the setting it was what I was allowing. Living in a college town, oh I'm only young once etc etc. I can always list a reason why I would drink. I can list a lot of reasons why I don't drink now. #1 I never feel good after even just one drink. My body hurts, my head hurts, and my mind isn't as clear post alcohol. Being social without alcohol tells you more about the people, places, and things that you engage in.

It ain’t easy especially when you’re in your 20’s and 30’s ….. hopefully you can find a way

Life is a rollercoaster in which we have to hold on. The little dawn and enjoy the ride, but it is easier sedden. Done in your situation. Honey is best to try to get yourself in the mind. Set, I've been able to sit down at a table and smell and seek and feel for alcohol will give you. You need to replace all those old tendencies with new things to do with new things to feel to smell to see. We should hope the best for you for recovery is hard for everybody.I've just completed 7 months.10 day is a challensend some days. It's a walk through the park. Some days it's an emotional depressing jojenny god bless
