Hard to pin down exactly what it was because my life changed so dramatically... So I guess I just kept myself distracted with hobbies and I just tried to maintain an honest relationship with myself. Acknowledge my faults and admit when I'm wrong or depressed. One of the main reasons I drank was to cover those things up.
I did it through AA, a sponsor, The 12 Steps and showing up at meetings every week.
