I've always been a drinker. Working in the industry, it was inevitably going to get worse as the years past. I've been binge drinking for the better part of 2 years. now that I've sabotaged the beautiful life i had with my partner & family, I'm finally ready to stop & do better. A bit late, but that's okay.
Hello everyone, the names Tash, & im an alcoholic looking for supportive friends who understand the struggle.
Have you started going to AA meetings?
It's never too late to do this. Everything happens in God's timing
I havent. Im a spiritual person, but not religious. Ive been intimidated
Oh believe me, religion is the last thing i want or need & am not interested in it. AA is not religious, thank fân gawd
Please dont let what you think might happen at 12 steps stop you from going. You dont have to be religious to go. I took what I liked and left the rest when I went.
You might want to try an online meeting before you go. It might help you get a feel of what a meeting is like.
You dont have to talk.
You dont have to say or do anything you dont want to.
You will not be singled or called on to speak.
These meetings and the people in them saved my life!!!
I will be celebrating 32 years free from mind altering substances !
It can be done!
Hello Tash. You can do it. Focus and remember why you're doing it. I now keep a journal (which I never have before) to really track my feelings, cravings, and successes.
Thank you for sharing this. Binge drinking is awful, I wish to remember that ever day.
