I've been "Cali sober" for the past year.people can say I wasn't really sober but it was nothing but a positive charge in my life the most productive year so far. I'm putting down the weed and giving myself 6 months then I might smoke again..
Don't let a person's opinion on something you're doing matter. If it is positive keep it going and realize that sobriety is not jumping into the deep end without learning to swim first. Be proud of yourself for the productive year you just had and know that its just the beginning of your journey. Congratulations on fighting another day.
I know a few people that practice “Mary Jane maintenance” it works for them. And to be honest they are all wonderful people who just can not drink. Just because someone can not have anything that alters the mind, and you can, that’s on them.
Congratulations! A year of not drinking is huge, so major props! This is your journey, nobody else’s, and it sounds like you’re continuing to make progress towards your best self
Sending good vibes
I agree
. As long as you are in a healthier state of mind than where you started then big ups to you on that. There's drinkers who pick up smoking and coffee more. I'm a chef that's my thing. Coffee all day and a couple smokes at night. But it keeps me sober and away from drugs.
Alfred Souza and Ralph Emerson both write.."life is a journey, not a destination" which brought me to saying,"Own the day don't let it own you."
