Ive been in recovery for 2 years an once again only have over 2 weeks sober why tf cant I just work these steps

There's obviously some reason that you can't work the steps, but don't stress yourself about what the specific reason is, you'll figure it out once you get some distance from your last drink. Remember that you're new to this. No matter what your physical age is, no matter how much experience or success you have experienced, no matter how big your problems are or seem, you're a beginner at sobriety and it's ok to not know the answers. For the beginning, concentrate on the little things: going to meetings... finding a sponsor if you don't have one... listening to your sponsor... trust your sponsor and try all of their suggestions... and do the next right thing: if your body says you're tired, rest; if you feel hungry, eat; if there's something goofy you want to do, do it (as long as it's appropriate). Treat yourself like you would treat a child who is asking you a question that they don't know how to answer. You don't have to know everything, but do your best to be compassionate and helpful. You can make it through this
Best advice I've heard given to anyone yet!!!
This is day one for me
The best day! You might feel low but you are SHINING! Congrats - glad you are here:)
Miah, nobody does this alone. I am looking for a sponsor too. Think i found my group. Going to reach out tonight and ask…
The only step we have to work 100% is Step 1. We have to concede to our innermost selves that we are powerless and our lives had become unmanageable. Then with a sponsor, work the rest of the steps to the best of our abilities at that time.
Like in sports or anything that we want to get good at, it takes practice. The more we work the steps the better we get at them. Then the easier it is to apply them in our daily lives. Keep your head up. As long as we don't pick up that 1st drink/drug, we gotta a chance.
Resistance is a symptom of the disease.
