I've been sober 3 weeks. I've drank heavily for 20 years, Took a drive today and had no where to go and no one to call. Life without alcohol is much more organized mentally, spiritually, and physically although I play around with the decision to re visit alcohol in the future but as of right now I'm looking for some East Coast buddies as well as online too.

Congrats on your 3 weeks. We all play around that we can handle this down the road but, it never works out that way. Iā€™m speaking from my own experiences. NJ here

Thank you for your reply :relaxed:

Congrats Ben!

Congratulations on this new you. Hope you trying to find local places to get plugged in so you get lots of numbers to use next time you driving around all alone. Getting plugged into a program to fellowship with others in your position is a life changer.

Sometimes having no one to call means you are not apologizing for something you did when you were drunk the day before. And sometimes having nowhere to go is an opportunity to see the world around you that you have been missing.

You can revisit alcohol tomorrow. Right now, it's today. Maybe just focus on the next 24 hours.

Baltimore, MD, by the way.

Definitely. I cannot speak it's been 4 years, it's a brain condition. I can hear and everything is on point. Trying to also reach the American Sign language community. But I laugh because I'm looking for people who will include me even though I can't talk. My partner is a heavy drinker but we live separately. As of right now I'm into the nature, holistic approach. I try to get outside everyday, move, breathe. And exercise.
