I've been sober for 87 days, once upon a time

I've been sober for 87 days, once upon a time I had 4 years and messed up. I'm looking for friends. I dont like the meetings in my hometown anymore so going to try this out. Life is good, even though it is complicated sometimes. Thank you ,🫶🏼

Meetings aren't for everyone and you CAN maintain sobriety otherwise. I have an online zoom meeting that I really enjoy as well as a local homegroup.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy the community

Hi Jules! I’ve been to meetings too but it’s just not for me. I understand how important they are to other people and appreciate that they are a huge part of others success. But Everyone is different. Came here 0 days sober and now at 150 days sober! It’s a great place to reach out for support, advice etc. and to do the same for others bc we “get” each other, with no judgement. Loosid has been a big part of my sobriety journey and I hope you find it the same for you. Have a great weekend☀️

Thanks Josh and yes it's different..

Things to keep in mind when approaching meetings is that:

a. Individuals are just that and opinions are not different.

b. Just because we have a bad experience with one group we should not let that experience yo negatively impact our sobriety journey.

c. A large part of the reason meetings are encouraged is for support and today with technology it's easier than ever to access support.

There are lots of good online meetings now! I don’t personally have any links but following this post so I can find new ones with my crazy work schedule

Congratulations on this huge win, keep showing up!
