I've done good all week but it's Friday and my friends are out having fun. I'm only on day 5. I just got back from a AA meeting. I'm trying so hard to fight the urge. I'm trying to let it go and give it to Him.
You got this, Trent
Stay strong. Good job giving it to your higher power
Your friends might not be having as much fun as you think. As you get more sober time you will be able to watch ādrunk funā and appreciate how stupid it actually is. If you are like me, I wasnāt having any fun with it in the end. It didnāt do anything for me. It only did things to me.
When I feel jealous or envious of the people in my life who drink, it helps to play the tape all the way through. If I went out with my friends and drank, what would the night actually look like for me? How would I feel the next morning? A couple drinks would turn into 10, I would probably black out, and I would feel sick and ashamed the next day.
This is a huge struggle for me as well. Iāve been avoiding being social because of the temptation I know Iāll have to face. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Stay strong

Keep your self busy.it will help.may want up your meetings.aašŖ
Become an introvert for awhile, find a hobby or something you can really immerse yourself in it
I donāt think I went out socially with my old friends for months. Iām three years in and can go pretty much anywhere now but itās still a monkey on my back.
I've been going to a lot of meetings and I have plenty of projects around the house to keep me busy. Being an introvert isn't my style. I've always been social and don't see myself changing much in that sense.
Trent! I can say for me once I took steps 1-3 the urges where removed. Sounds like you have God in your life, right? Itās an honest program. We clean up
Our side of the side setting right our wrongs. Then get out there and help others achieve sobriety. Thatās how I can live a better joyous life. Itās not always easy but it definitely a lot better.
Hope you day is going well!
