I've heard several of you say that being sober you feel everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm definitely sitting in the ugly right now. I knew there were things bothering my husband and I figured my little screw up over Thanksgiving had something to do with it. I hate sitting in my own shame. I told him that for whatever it's worth, I'm sorry. He said he can't fault me because I'm trying to get help. How do you work through these shitty feelings? Funnily enough I don't want a drink. More than anything I want to cry and scream and run away.
Hi Arie, the way that I work through my feelings is by writing about them and talking about them. This gives me the space to see them as a viewer and understand them as well as have compassion and empathy for myself. You got this, just keep doing the next right step.

Apologizing and admitting your wrong is such a huge step. Shame and guilt don't have to be there. That's all about forgiving yourself, loving yourself and moving on. So hard to do but definitely doable.
