Jail was the answer for me!

Hey everyone! In 2 days I'll be 160 days sober! I was in jail for almost 5 months of it. I'm grateful for my jail experience, weird as that may seem. Without it, I'd still be drinking and wouldn't have learned my lesson. 3 times at rehab didn't teach me a lesson, but jail sure did! :muscle:

Yes, huge difference between jail and rehab, lol. Don’t want to repeat either. Jail is very humbling indeed! Whatever works:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::call_me_hand:t3::v:t3::sunglasses:

I can relate Angie! For most of my life I ignored the little red flags of consequences. I too am grateful for my 30 day vacation. I’m not proud of what I had to go through to be given the gift of desperation but I do not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it!!! It was all necessary!!!

I’m so sure we are the only group of people that can end up being grateful for incarceration. I hear it over and over in recovery. What a blessing and thank you for sharing

Great perspective. My alcohol related run-in with the law worked for me too.
