I am so grateful that JD RAE is someone I used to know. It was my nickname given by "friends" after I would drink my Jack Daniels. It is all I drank, almost every single day. To numb my pain, to numb my thoughts, to numb the secrets I held, not just for me but for others.
I will be 2 years and 7 months sober as of tomorrow. Something shifted in me on December 5th, 2022. I had a dream and thought it was reality. I was talking to my late grandma at the kitchen table. I woke up and said I am done. That day was her husbands, my grandfathers birthday, December 5th. I am thankful everyday for that dream and that time with my late grandma, it has truly changed my life!
