Does anyone on here keep a daily journal? What format do you use if any? Any thoughts or opinions are welcome!
Write what your heart leads you to write
What Vicki said
I don't think about it. When a thought comes to mind about something in particular and you find yourself thinking about it; just write it down
I just carry one with me at all times or jot the thought or idea or random quote I see/read or song lyric and write it down. It usually evokes some sort of emotion and when I read back on them, it reminds me of where I was/at in that point of my life. Also, date your pages. It's amazing to look back and read where you were at said weeks, months and in my case years ago regarding my relationship with alcohol- we'd break up and then make up. It was very therapeutic for me even though some entries are really depressing and sad but, it helps you grow. Remembering the good and the bad helps me find gratitude...
My mom gave me a book last Christmas with daily prompts that explore spirituality. I write in it every night, and keep a gratitude journal daily. I do general journaling when I feel the need, and just write what is on my mind.
I certainly do. I use a moleskin journal. Use every square inch is my goal. Pilot pens.
I early sobriety I journaled every day. This lasted about 2 years or so. Now I’m down to once in a while. But I can say this helped me so much. Especially with diet issues, learning how to pray, and doing step 11 page 86 night time reflection.
Look up Julia Cameron’s morning pages if you feel like.:)…straightforward, simple.
Three pages of writing first thing in the morning. Whatever is on your mind. I prefer using my pen and notebook. There are enough screens vying for my time.
Whenever I do this, helps.
All the best!
