Just for today as our days go by and I

Just for today as our days go by and I see myself more and more in my recovery fighting for my life. It’s like giving it over to my own spirituality for I know it stands for me our journey and have nightmares that scare me, but at the end of the day, my Recovery comes first the first thing I do when I open my eyes thank God because I almost didn’t make it here. The second thing I do is go to the bathroom. My third thing I do is come back to my sofa when people think I’m sleeping. My eyes are closed. My mind is wide awake and there I sit I meditate in the quietness of the world around me, remain humble, showing humility to every person that I meet living. This grand life of Recovery has been the most powerful journey for me because I’ve learned so much about myself and in the midst of learning all these things about myself, I realize I’m stronger the stronger woman that I’ve ever been in my life I’m almost 5 years, clean a few more months anyway, but I couldn’t be happier for myself or my surroundings because God chose my military army. He told me who was staying with me and who would fall against me. I may have lost all my blood family, some street family too, but I gained a village of people who’s willing to stand by me and carry me and help me carry the load that I fight for every day if you haven’t found your village yet trust me keep looking keep going and I promise you it’ll be there. It’s always been there. You just had your eyes closed for a moment and you believe that your family or anybody else would have you but your family don’t understand what you’re going through because they’re not out there. They haven’t lived the things that you lived, and you can teach them, but only if they have an open mind.

It wasn’t the 5 years that stood out as much as it was the every day choices that got you there. I’m really glad you found people willing to stand beside you, and I’m so dang proud of you.
