Just had my first breakup since being sober…so great to know I made the decision in a present state of mind and I trusted my instincts! In my old life I would have sent a 2 am panicky text wanting to try again. So nice to be able to trust myself again
So happy for you! Congratulations., I’ve been single and on my own for a long time,, I find it’s okay to be alone,, but never lonely……
Navigating life sober. Definitely different. I too can relate to making life impacting decisions while drinking & using. Some of those decisions still affect my life today. Absolutely nothing wrong with being single. Especially in today's climate. My experience and opinion of course. I have found that most of the views on being single leave out one important thing. It all boils down to how you feel about yourself. If you are secure and confident in yourself you realize being single isn't something that happens or happened to you. It's a choice you've made. You realize you are worth so much more and others must value and respect you. This fact alone makes finding someone these days difficult. I decided years ago if I meet a lady we must first become good friends and go from there. This completely shuts down the dynamic of jumping right into things the world says we should and simply getting to know one another no matter how it ends or if something more begins. Again making it all a choice. I also have found being single and sober comes with it's own rewards and blessings. You'll get to know and understand your true self much better and learn to listen for that "still small voice" That guides you.
Good job Amanda... You made another good decision. CONGRATULATIONS
I went through my 2nd divorce after 6 years of sobriety. It was difficult, but being sober helped me let go and move on with my life. You've got this!
Good for you! That can be difficult to go through. Don't hesitate to reach out to someone.
