Just went to treatment in July and already relapsed I’m just emotionally broken right now. Will this ever end?
Only if you want it too. Gotta work for it. No magic wands. You were shown the tools in rehab. Use them now. Give yourself a break.
It's inevitably it will end. You get to choose how. We have all relapsed. It's what you do with that learning experience. Now move forward and fix it. I post this alot read the book Alcohol Explained by William Porter it explains what alcohol does to keep you drinking. I think it will help. Along with meetings i think they help keep you accountable. Best of luck
Relapses happen and I’m guilty of it myself. So are probably most of the people in this group! You managed to get through and get out of rehab and if you were able to do that once you can do pick yourself back up, dust off and do it again. I say this to you as I also need to do it myself. Find a group in case you feel or think you are going to use again and sometimes going to a group and getting things off your chest helps a lot
IDK When I was in rehab it was amazing how special and unique all of my 33 roomates thought they were (myself included). Since that time I’ve realized that is one of the biggest things that gets in our way. I had to realize that I wasn’t that special. I didn’t have special problems. I didn’t need a special solution. I needed the solution that all of the regular old drunks and druggies used to get sober. I didn’t need to work it in a special way, just the way that they told me to. Be humble. Be willing to listen. Show up. Do the work.
