Just wondering

Yep.. don’t know why but I think it’s because I’m trying to stay sober and they don’t respect me and what I’m doing..

I was that way my first 2 years of sobriety.. it’s just your body adjusting and adapting to no mind altering substances in it.. congrats on all the hard work!! keep pushing forward!!

Thank you

Congratulations. Yes I found myself shorter with people. Patience runs thin and you have to bite your tongue more

Yep lol I was telling someone this the other day the longer I stay sober the less patience I have

I totally relate to this. I constantly have to check myself because I love immediate gratification. Deep breathing, meditation, exercise and good tea seem to help me from blowing my top. I also have to take a walk sometimes when I know I'm losing my temper just because.

Oh yeah. Would go to meetings and leave mad at something someone said that I thought was insensitive.

You have to activively work on not giving a shït about things that don't matter. Forget all the fairy dust nonsense in AA where you pray to have someone else remove your character defects. You (we) have to activively work on them. This is one of mine as well, I work at it constantly. I'm happier when I stop giving a shït that some a$$hole took up three parking spaces with his hunk of shït Honda Civic at the grocery store. Who cares?

I don’t do AA. I tried it, it’s not for me.

What have you turned to in the absence of booze? You need to replace alcohol with something that brings you happiness. If not you’re just left missing drinking and being angry that you can’t do it.

Find your new thing. Because right now you’re what’s called a dry drunk.

Regardless of whether you "do AA" or not, you still have to learn to manage expectations of everything around us.

Congrats on 15 mos👊. Yes….been there, I take deep breaths and don’t react quickly anymore, it helps!
