Just finished 30 days of inpatient on Friday and am transitioning back to life outside the bubble! It was an incredible experience and I really want to make sure I continue putting my recovery first. I'm doing IOP 3 hours/day and slowly going back to work...any suggestions on how to keep myself and my recovery/sobriety as my first priority?

Welcome Molly, congrats on completion of inpatient. I too went through this same process. IOP, residential for 30 days. Basically, like Bradford said, we go to meetings, either online or in person, we talk to other alcoholics before and after meetings and get a sponsor. Phone numbers is another great way to get and stay connected. I found out that when we stray away from the center of the program we tend to the idea that a drink is ok. I recommend to look at the first three steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and get a sponsor to help guide you through the steps. 1-3, for me have removed the urges and obsession to drink. The rest of the steps have opened my eyes and given me a new way to live. Away to also clean up my past mistakes with those I may have harmed…
I’m glad you’re getting the help you need. Keep growing spiritually it works I’m living proof… I love what I have today…
Thanks Kevin! I've been going to meetings and have a sponsor and am working the steps
continuing to build my sober network and am thankful for every day I have sober! I appreciate your encouraging words!
