So sorry to hear this. I was put on prazosin for my night terrors for the same thing and it helped me SO much. Once I was able to get a good nights rest, I could start figuring the rest out.

the only medication to ever work for me or at least for my severe insomnia is seroquel

Prazosin is for severe PTSD. It helps your mind actually relax rather than be in fight or flight mode. It’s not for sleep but my night terrors we’re stopping me from sleeping so I would take it before bed so my mind could finally relax.

There are some peer-reviewed studies that are showing promise for those with mental health issues such as anxiety, PTSD and even addiction who are receiving ketamine and psilocybin in a controlled setting by a trained therapist. I hope you're able to get some relief!

With ketamine you have to be interviewed at a clinic and to have had at least two medications that have not worked for depression and maybe other diagnoses as well. It has helped me a lot. You can get the infusions while taking other medicines.
that’s what i’m doing tomorrow. and i’ve had probably two dozen medications that haven’t worked for me
Some insurances will pay for Spravato which is basically ketamine administered as a nose spray

I just read a new research study on ketamine. It’s becoming more accepted and studies are proving favorable! I also have ptsd. I’ve been wanting to try this forever. The problem has been the cost. Keep me posted on your journey and how you make out. If it can help one of us maybe it can’t help some more of us! Hold on to hope! We need hope

The AA literature specifically states that the use of professionals in the medical field should ABSOLUTELY be utilized if needed. Hang in there Luna, and more will be revealed.
I take an Adderall prescription for ADHD and maladaptive daydreaming. If im not facing issues because im drinking to escape or daydreaming for extended hours to escape, then my life would have never gotten better.
Im grateful for AA and my doctor.
