Keto Anyone?

Does anyone eat Keto on here? It’s one of the new changes in my life committed to health/sobriety and taking the time to prepare what I put in my body is rewarding in so many ways. If you have a favorite keto tip/favorite foods list/recipe please share!

Yes! All I eat is meat, vegetables, and fruit. Also cheese. I basically have cut out all man made processed foods and carbohydrates. I lost over 60lbs in the process, too. Now I work out religiously and eat as much as I want.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Oooo that looks so good! I’ll have to try it. Enjoy!

I use a lot of different spices too. I thought it would be easy to cut out sugar since I don’t like sweets but when you are trying to essentially cut out all sugar it’s a little harder

Congrats JB!

Cauliflower rice is the best replacement for carbs! You can buy frozen riced cauliflower in bulk. All you gotta do is heat it on the pan (frozen), THEN when it’s hot and cooked add olive oil and seasoning, so you don’t get any splatter. Have it with your protein of choice and whatever other veggies you like :). I did keto when I first got sober, now I’m 70lbs down. Also watch Thomas Delauer on YouTube. He has a lot of great keto tips. Best of luck and congrats!

Yes I lost 70 pounds on keto(except lower fat content) and train 6 days a week twice a day. It will just fall off

Complex carbs are good for you, dummies. You're not body builders or cavemen. Be practical. Stop eating dairy, it's packed full of growth hormones and cut out simple carbs. Typical keto diets have become linked with all the diseases you're trying to avoid.

Nope. Don’t even talk about food like that. You will miss all the good stuff.

Chewy noodles, crusty baguettes, chicken rice.

I do cauliflower rice :slightly_smiling_face:. Thanks I will check out the videos!

Actually I’ve really been enjoying it. Especially when I do it dirty because I love cheese

That’s what I’m saying

I did Keto for awhile and my cholesterol dropped by 15 points which was a surprise. Eventually stopped the strict keto but still focus on low carbs, meat protein, green vegetables, salads. I do my food prep each week on the prior weekend

Thank you for reminding me about meal prep. I definitely want to start that!

Main thing I learned after doing keto twice was how important it is to eat enough leafy veggies. I don’t love them so I don’t immediately think to include them in my meals and with keto I was just so excited that I could have all the cheese and butter I wanted lol. But your body needs carbs to burn for energy and if you’re doing keto and not eating enough veggies you will be getting zero carbs and have zero energy.

Thank you for that tip! At 5 days sober and eating maybe 15 carbs a day I’ve been soooo exhausted . I did have a salad today though :slightly_smiling_face:
