Hi I am looking for sugestions. I have 3 kids, divorced and have no friends or family around….I need to be going to AA but I dont have any idea want route to go to make this happen. Has anyone here ever found a solution to a similar dilema?

I would recommend downloading The everything AA app on your phone it’s great place to start & they give platy of zoom meeting options that you can join straight from the phone

Thank you so much for the website, I got myself into a very solitary place in the decades of trying to mind my business and keep my problem drinking to myself as best as I could, now that leaves me where I finally really want alcohol out just for myself and have only the support and friends that I put time into building, which means no one

@david303997 ... I agree with Mika. Get the "Everything AA" app.
Good suggestion Mika.:love_you_gesture::call_me_hand:

Most NA meetings are good with kids, and even provide a separate room for childcare.

Thanks I got it now!

Interesting I have never heard that, I will look into that

I attend NA meetings. I feel alcohol was my drug of choice, but NA is all inclusive, recognizing alcohol as a drug.

Alcohol has always been my main issue but many drugs were a problem too, drug access was the only thing being a isolating drinker saved me from, because anytime I had access through out my life I was instantly all over any drug I had in front of me. But with booze my “dealer” requires no connections or acquaintance

You’re welcome, I’m really glad you got it👍🏻
I had the same issue at first as I have a 2yo with no one to help watch her and none of the meetings near me offer childcare, So it’s been a true lifesaver for me having resources like that which allow me to stay involved In the fellowship and be able to attend meetings daily while also caring my child. I’d also recommend checking out the meetings on the radford hall website they have a lot of really great hybrid meetings listed👍🏻

Radford hall? Never heard of it I will look for it. Thanks, also what is a hybrid meeting?

The have lots great meetings and have 2 really good ones aim towards parents who are in recovery.
Hybrid meetings are ones that are in person meetings (radford specifically is in LA) that also have an online presence so anybody, anywhere is welcome to join

Ok thanks for the website

There is an app called Affect that I use. I have group twice a week and a meeting by myself with a counselor once a week. It's really been great.

I’ve taken my kids to meetings whenever an alternative was not available. Bring some coloring books and such.
Meanwhile, friend, neighbor, or church group with daycare are options.
Whatever it takes
