How do you deal with physical pain? I’ve tried meditation, daily meetings, reading… anything to get my mind off it. It’s just eating away at me and all I want to do is numb this pain. Staying strong but certainly struggling. Any tips appreciated! Here’s a cute pic of my messed up knee smh mri tomorrow and hoping for the best! Fingers crossed
On a medication level, ibuprofen and Tylenol together have helped me….the doc says a combo works for some addicts
Also addressing the anxiety is good so stick with the meditation and if you’re into acupuncture, bc underlying anxiety can increase pain
I fell off my Vespa in 2019 and although I didn’t break or tear anything it was about as bad as it could be without doing those things. Both of my tibial plateaus were deeply bruised and the only thing that helped me was a STEADY rotation of ibuprofen and Tylenol. Four months of it. Every day. Three times a day—- each.
That look painful! Sending you positive vibes!!
I’ve recently had a major back surgery, I did 4 days of doctor prescribed pain meds them was able to move to a 0 percent thc cbd with Tylenol and ibuprofen, I felt it was more effective on pain than narcotic pain meds. You know yourself best and and depends on your sobriety comfort level on the cbd. Talk to your doc, mine said if it was possible he’d prescribe cbd because it’s so effective on pain and far less addictive than narcotics
Bless your heart. Ibuprofen messed up my kidneys. Be careful with that. Any NSAID
I've found ice and compression work better than pain meds on my beat up knees. I have a hyperice compression sleeve and use it 30 minutes at a time to keep the pain and inflammation down.
Ice, ibuprofen, and keep leg elevate is all you can really do. However, Looks like you might have fluid. Have drained asap
Looks brutal. I get being careful about meds, I take tramadol for my back pain. The alternative is alcohol, so I choose tramadol a pain reliver that really helps me, that to me is the safer bet that the higher pain meds. Get better geezz.
Rotate hot and cold packs. Soak in Epsom salt
Let me clarify. Had back surgery, only take when necessary.
I've had two ACL repairs on my left knee. All I can say is I feel for you!
Keep it elevated and bend and extend as much as you can. Keeping it stationary leads to stiffness, which hurts even more!
Rachel said it. Had my back cut up and using cold packs 24/7. Really helps numb the pain. Good luck.
I have been using Tylenol and ibuprofen, plus rotating a moist heating pad and ice packs. Pro Icy Hot rub helps, it can be found at Walmart. I wish you the best of luck!
Breathing deeply INWARDLY through your nose (with your mouth closed) And out your mouth
Cut grains out or limit
Drink regular temp water 8oz at a time 30 minutes before and after meals
Move what hurts but after rest and sober pain meds got swelling down
Alternate ice and heat packs ( read how )
Eat healthy
cherries helps
Tinctures from the health food store ( Google pain Tinctures)
Make sure you don't have infection.
Hope this helps
Be careful with Tylenol as it is metabolized in the liver and high doses can send your liver enzymes through the roof. In some cases, prolonged and daily use of Tylenol can lead to serious liver problems. Ibuprofen, 800mg every 6 hours was always the most helpful for me. Again, just because these are OTC does not mean they’re always “safe.” Talk to a doctor and explain your history.
Great advice!
OTC doesn't necessarily mean harmless.
I use an electric heating pad and an reusable ice pack no alcohol anymore!
Stop drinking
