I had to get help paying for glasses for my son. His mother took care of it. I already had the shame of have to ask for help when she said to call her and she would give the lady her card number. It hurt that she didn’t trust me enough to send a picture of it. Why would she, I lied about the severity of my drinking and kept us from being financially secure by spending a ton on my addictions. Well, I know I can be trusted now and that is good enough for me. I am grateful that I can be ok with her actions.

Well said Chris! Others may not be ready to accept the new you, but you know you are not that person anymore. You know you have reached a new level of emotional sobriety when you can understand/accept others, and have to react to them
