If you’re still calling them “junkies” or “bums,” I don’t just judge you, I lose all respect for you. You’re not better because you’re housed or sober. You’re just lucky. Lucky you didn’t grow up in chaos. Lucky you had support. Lucky your pain didn’t swallow you whole and land you on the street.
We’ve come way too far to still be this ignorant. Addiction and homelessness aren’t moral failures, they’re the result of trauma, pain, and a system built to fail people. Nobody chooses this life, stop pretending they do.
When you mock or dismiss those who are barely surviving, that’s not honesty. That’s cruelty. That’s cowardice.
