Lapsed and Drank last night after 22 days sober. Looking for support/advice.
Don’t let it bring you down keep your self up and keep going at least your being honest about it
Fall down 8 get up 9. It’s ok. Do it different this time
Hi Kris, my first suggestion is to not beat yourself up over your relapse. Relapse is a part of many people’s process in getting sober. The second is to make adjustments so that it doesn’t happen again. Before you relapsed did you call another sober person? Were you attending some kind of support meeting or getting plugged into a recovery community? What led to your relapse. These are all important things to understand and do in order to prevent relapse. Reaching out on here is always a good move too! You’ll get it if you stay diligent and keep sobriety number 1. Good luck!
Relapses happen to everyone. What really matters is how you pick up and carry on from here. That relapse doesn't take away anything you have put in to get to those 22 days. But you gotta dust yourself off and try again with everything you've learned over those 22 days and everything you've learned from your relapse. It's time to pour out any remaining booze and get back to work.
Welcome back
Keep trying til it sticks. Meetings help me to replace it with something else.
Thank you all for the support!! I made it through the remainder of the weekend booze free!
