Last night I had a wonderful night sleep with 2

Last night I had a wonderful night sleep with 2 three-hour REM cycles. I woke up in a wonderful mood, had an outstanding workout, and a very good morning. Then my day took a turn downhill. I keep running into issues where I have to confront who I was when I was using. I know that we’re supposed to move on and understand that we can’t dwell on the past.

It’s very hard not to dwell on the past, though when it keeps getting thrown back in your I wish more than anything to have it go away. But unfortunately it’s gonna be a while before I’m going to be able to forget that. I know this process is gonna take a while, and I know that part of it is your brain remapping and your dopamine levels leveling out . This whole thing would be a lot easier if I had some kind of support. from the person that I alienated, scared, and who abandoned me due to those things

I’m not really sure why I’m writing this other than to see if I can get maybe some kind of moral support and understanding from people who have been through it.

It’s also really hard to be an empath and a highly sensitive person. and deal with this stuff, feeling like I need to give and give when I have hardly anything left in my tank. I don’t wanna get back to where I was when I decided to reach out for help. At that point, I was out of hope. I’m not there right now, this journey is really hard

So let me know.

I get it a bit.
This journey is hard, but anything worth doing is hard..at least I think that’s what they say.
When I’m going through the woulda-coulda-shoulda’s with my past, sometimes I’ll say to myself “you don’t have a Time Machine to go back to change it”. I’ll remind myself of what I can do today. Sometimes that helps, sometimes not.
I’m so glad you slept. I found for my mental health that has Been essential. Nothing worse than dragging all day because you didn’t sleep.
Thanks for writing. Meant a lot to know I can relate to someone that gets it.
Hang in there and keep moving forward.

You got Moral support right, friend.

Thanks for your kind words. This journey is not fun. It’s definitely eye opening and I know so much more about myself than I ever knew possible, but it is not fun at all.
