Spending time with the people who mean the most to me, continuously laughing & realizing how far not only myself but some of my dear friends have come in their Sobriety is astonishing. I spent time with a friend today who I’ve known since I was 10. She has 5 yrs sober today! I was able to celebrate with her & her family today- because I myself am also Sober. In my active addiction she had to love me from a distance because she couldn’t handle seeing me as a Junkie & also had to keep herself safe. I guess what I’m trying to say is for a long time her & I never imagined we could get & stay sober this long- but we are & I’m just so grateful for today. Something about having a friend who is also a recovering addict adds a little more of something special to the Friendship.
Anyways, just wanted to share my thoughts today I guess.
