Learning that once i quit using drugs it doesnt mean that i dont face challenges or that everything suddenly falls into place, but it does mean that i am much better equipped to face the challenges.

Well said. Recovery is much more than just abstinence. It’s an inside journey of self exploration to become aware of what you need to unlearn so that you can relearn.

You nailed it. Life keeps going and not all the time is it pleasant. Today we don’t have to drink or use when everything crashes.
