Oh yes, that's a big one. My dad died 4 months into my sobriety. I can honestly say that I am so grateful that I was able to feel everything instead of numbing it will alcohol. Life doesn't quit just because you did. Embrace the emotions. Crying is incredibly healing. Reach out if you need to talk.

Trust me I so get this. My 8 year old daughter died last year. I literally couldn’t live. After Christmas almost took me out I went to a facility to get help. It was a dual diagnosis place. So not just alcohol was addressed but so much therapy to treat my grief trauma depression etc. I came home a few weeks ago. And then bam 2/28 her first birthday in heaven. (I survived barely) and now coming up to her one year 3/21. Is so hard. I’m remaining strong. If you want to talk. I’m here.

Lisa,
I am so sorry.
There are no words.
A friend of mine is burying her son today.

No one should have to go through such trauma.
Sending along some virtual hugs, your way.
And prayers.
:pray:t4:

Sorry for your loss, I’m here if you want to talk also ..

I’m learning how to do this too. I’ve experienced a lot of loss since I’ve gotten sober and tbh I feel like it’s a beautiful thing really to be able to go through it sober, and be there for others with the ability to really hold space, be able to clearly remember the good memories you had, and be able to honor their spirit instead of just numbing it all out.
If you need to talk, feel free to message me. Grief is a really hard emotion and I’m sorry for your loss.
