Learning to love myself has been the hardest mission of my life for some reason. I’m almost there .
Gotta love yourself before anything else to make sobriety work. Great spirit. Keep it going.
It’s a process Elizabeth. Keep moving forward. I have found that it’s best to look at this as a lifelong mission. We don’t just get there and stop. We need to continue to grow so that we don’t fall back into old habits and patters. As with our recovery, it’s best to have a healthy daily program to stay spiritually and mentally fit. The younger you figure this out the better off your life will be. You are doing great…keep going!
It's a tough thing to do! I feel you, I can relate. That's at the root of why so many of us drink/use. Substances temporarily take away the pain, but they also keep us stuck. We will never find our self worth at the bottom of a bottle or bag. What had helped me is doing shadow work, practicing gratitude and being mindful of even small accomplishments throughout the day (the more you notice the good, the more good you will see in the world and in yourself). Give yourself credit for wanting help with this, it takes a strong person to reach out. Congrats on the days you have, keep your eye on the prize of wanting better for yourself and it will happen
It only takes an army of one and that’s you my dear.
Meditation is helpful for me. Where we were leads us to where we are. You are awesome! You have come a long way.
Self loathing is real, but so is self love. I’ve been there. I have regained my self esteem as well as respect.
Thats Great News Elizabeth.. Love , and Respect yourself..
Why what's so trough
This might sound harsh but the destruction of a person builds strength, enduring qualities and character. We are so stubborn in many ways its hard to let go and embrace all the good in ourselves. We think were not worth it because we have a issue with a substance and have made bad choices becauseof it. I say a huge middle finger to chapter 5 and turn the page.
