Letting go of control and self-centeredness

I really enjoyed this morning's AA daily reflection. In my disease I was so selfish and easily offended; I took everything personally. I'm finding in my sobriety I have more compassion and am getting better at letting go of my desire to try and control everything. Always a work in progress, but this morning's reading was a reminder of how far I've come in accepting myself and others as we are without setting expectations or making assumptions

I read that too this morning. It’s a blessing to be aware of these things today. Its as if I lived my whole life with blinders on…only seeing things from my perspective. Thanks for sharing :peace_symbol:

I too enjoyed this read. I live my life trying to think from a perspective that I grew up with. Which of course on many levels was not correct. Been a shift in gears. Really eye opening. Trying to really figure out my perspective. Right or wrong? You all are helping me to get there. Thank you.

One of the first things my sponsor said to me is “ expectations are resentments that haven’t come to pass yet” that has stuck with me to this day.
