Yesterday I let go of a relationship that was hazardous to my recovery. I have come to understand that this is a life or death situation and anything that comes in front of my recovery I have to get away from. Now I understand why they say don't get into relationships within your first year because the focus has to be on me only.

Amen to that! 
I have been sober a long time and put a relationship ahead of my recovery- when it ended I felt like a newcomer again. It did push me hard back into the work, but it was extremely painful 
I was pretty dry.
I can't afford to do that again.
