I just finished an intense cycling session after 45 minutes I feel great , energetic, and happy. It wasn’t easy to get going, and I sat there going through mindless YouTube vids beforehand, but I got on that bike! How many times I have craved a beer and then caved, but afterwards feel dissatisfied, disappointed, and like a failure. I know this will always be a struggle and at times that beer will be right there waiting, but if I can just remember these feelings, choose wisely, and don’t give into the lies that alcohol makes me feel good, or helps me forget, etc. this 45 minute work out did all of that and more and instead of guilt I feel happy. Just wanted to share

Keep up the good work James. I have to say though as we work the steps the obsession is removed. Read from the top of page 85 of the Big Book. It will not always be a struggle. I can verify that.

The price of sobriety is eternal vigilance. That means sometimes using every tool in the arsenal to keep from picking up.
Just be careful with all that cycling. I started cycling a few years ago. Next thing I knew I was training for an Ironman
Sure as heck beats waking up hungover!
