Loneliness I have found to be one of the hardest

Loneliness I have found to be one of the hardest parts of sobriety. Currently I am unable to talk to my wife/best friend as there is a protection order against it and in the beginning stages of a divorce (which I hope doesn’t happen) but also now being 51 days clean and sober I have stopped talking to all of the people I used to call “friends” but we all know what that truly was. So I go days without hearing from anyone and it is tough!! I am a very talkative person and I am doing groups and community events 5 days a week but dang those 2 days are rough. If you do want/need to talk PM me men or woman.

Have you ever tried meetings? I know about the loneliness you speak of. It still haunts me at times even though I have a family and great support group. I don’t k ow what I’d do without my AA friends.

Yes I have and still loneliness is still there.

I 100% understand and I live rurally which is hard too. I felt exactly like you. I did get divorced, I could not have got sober in that relationship. I relocated and cut off everyone I was ‘friends’ with, they were all users. It’s F’n tough. But you are doing this for you, it’s worth it. You’ve got 51 days, don’t blow that. Get a dog, go on long walks. I’m not always here but pm me before you pick up a drink/drug again

Me too, I can relate totally. I have one set of friends, a couple who I get to see maybe wants every two weeks. They understand but the rest of the gang doesn't not even my children and that hurts.

Man. Temporary loneliness is most definitely a reality I’m hearing from most people conquering addiction. I’m in the same boat with the guys above. Meetings, dog, prime video series’s, Netflix, Loosid. Hopefully I’ll start dating again, but I can honestly say I’m still unhealed so I absolutely have to hold off.

I’ve tried to fill my alone time with reading-yoga-Ted Talks and cooking new recipes. I’m reading untethered soul-hard read-but so worth it.

What helped me with loneliness was the gym, meetings, sponsor, steps, comittment, community, connection.

Loneliness is a big trigger for me too. It’s gotten better because of meeting people on this app though. Feel free to reach out anytime!

I’m struggling with this as well. I listen to a lot of sober podcasts to try and help

I talk to birds and trees regularly!
