Loneliness

Struggling with loneliness. I have a solid family base, a small group of close friends. Typically I’m good, but recently over Memorial Day weekend, it seemed long and lonely. Plenty of family to hang out with. Just no special person in my life. My question is “what are other guys doing to meet women to date?”

Depending on how long you have been sober plays a big factor in dating I believe, I had a year and a half as of last August, everything was going well until I dropped my guard and got complacent with my recovery and I ended up relapsing, give yourself time to grow, the women will always be there brother

Right on. 2 years 3 months on Thursday.

Get out into some recovery groups, such as AA or smart recovery. While working on your recovery, you’ll meet people and grow a community around you!!

I’ve found that making eye contact, smiling, and paying a small compliment on something other than physical appearance followed pretty quickly with asking if they’d like to get coffee or go for a walk. If yes, exchange info and make arrangements. If no, smile, wish them well, and go on about the great day that you’re having.

Probably a lot fewer of us are meeting someone to date than you may think!
