I’m sober over 4 months but I don’t really have any friends and I’m really lonely
Hey Ryan, I know what you mean. I got sober, moved for a new job and didn't have a lot of friends either. It takes a while but it'll happen. It's part of the process. I've still got an old close friend, a new one I play guitar with and I've got my brother back. All good things in all good time. Keep the faith. You have lots of friends here.
Do you go to meetings? That is a great place to meet sober people. Also depending on where you live some cities have group meet ups where you can choose different activities and meet others.
Thanks guys I appreciate the quick feedback. I just finished a meeting. It’s mostly all old people at the meetings I go to. And the YP meetings they are too young lol! I’m 34
Meet ups is a good idea, thank you
Hey brother. I get it. But would tell you to keep trying and plugging in. Those old timers in thier 60s are the best and I can hang with them any time. As a matter of fact my sponcer who is 65 is a black belt in Juijitsu and can kick my a$$ any time he wants when we are rolling. The young sober crowd also have a lot to offer. I would forget about age and look at the heart and message. Pretty soon those other 34 year olds will start showing up because you’re there…. In our recover group we are all family and will go hang out after the meetings and in between. In our jujitsu in which is also for recovery we have from ages 8-75 years old and all get along great.
Keep comming back and plugging in you got this…
Thanks everyone I will keep moving forward!
Yeah dude, meetings. Go to as many as you can, you'll find your spot.
Keep coming back Ryan, loneliness is apart of the process, stick around for the Miracle!
Wow look at all the support on this app. This is really great and you guys have really made a difference for me. I’m feeling a lot better today. Thank you for the encouragement!
Try meetup dot com…
?
I have not checked that in ages…while there are so many groups for so many interests.
I don’t go to AA.
( Well. I go very sporadically ).
There are options, out there.
You may have to dig a little?
I wish you well!
