No drink in 9 Years. On and off with weed every few years. Just got back from a bachelor party and it was fine and had a good time, played golf and hiked some mountains and chilled while everyone was partying. There's a little bit of a lonely feeling at the moment. Feels like everyone around me talks at me and not with me. Could be me. Girlfriend is out of town drinking. Hoping she has a great time, but I feel alone.

I can relate to this. I get very lonely and reminisce about the old days when I was part of the “drinking gang” unfortunately alcohol took control of my life and needed to stop or die. I get through every day reaching out to others in recovery. Alcohol is so glorified but they don’t show the harsh reality of it, which is really sad. 25 months in and I do this One Day At a Time sometimes a minute at a time. Better to be sober than to die from this nasty disease.
