Lonliness is the worst feeling for me. I hate it more than anything. Im in sober living, doing ok, looking for work, have good people around me, and still I feel soo alone.
It's going to feel like that at first. Because you're on a whole new journey. It may seem like you're alone, but it's someone there at your sofa. Living that is actually going through and dealing with the same thing as you. Maybe if you reach out and Spring it up in one of your house meetings or something, then you can get the help in the closure that you need and you're also probably made a friend. It's totally up to you how you work your recovery, but it only works. If you work it, you have to be able to be open-minded and you have to reach out. Don't stay closed up just because you're in sober.Living and because you're not around your family.Sometimes family and outside friends can be your biggest downfall.Everything that you have to succeed at this.Even the loneliness gives you power and strength to fight your addiction every day.I believe in you keep pushing forward
Thank You Alice
Hang in there I'm in the same boat at times I try to go walking or do yoga or volunteering
Give yourself some grace buy yourself some flowers take yourself to lunch.
I once was in your shoes. And still feel that way at times. But slowly things started to turn for the better. I loss some friends but gained a new family with sobriety. Trust the process!
Christa, you’re not alone. Many of us felt lonely and still do sometimes. It’s just our addiction/ego that is trying to trigger us into using drugs & alcohol. Don’t be fooled. You’re going to be fine. Stay close to the program and make new sober friends.
I’m here if you want to talk.
Volunteering is the best since you are helping others as you help yourself!!
