I have tried 10 therapist in the metro Detroit area
Now I’m looking for someone possibly remote that specializes in trauma
Better health is out of my price range for the monthly package

If your trauma is sexual in nature, please contact the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. It is free and they are good people, zoom meetings etc.

I have a brilliant therapist specializing in trauma. She’s so very good!! Sondermind (online) Geneva Polster-Crabtree. I check her work once a month with my monthly counselor and he is in agreement… she really knows her stuff.

Sondermind is expensive and if you don't have a ton of money, they can't help you.

Is it? I’m on subsidized insurance (Friday insurance) it’s super inexpensive and covers mental health 100%.

Oh that's really cool. I have what is considered really good health insurance too, and technically I could afford what they were asking, but honestly I just thought it was a bit expensive and I didn't like the format of it. Seemed like it was really geared towards fancy yuppie types, and I didn't feel comfortable with any of it. But that's just my opinion. Probably works for lots and lots of people.

LOTS of people… no yuppies here, haha, just f there were I would tell you, haha! I’m on Cerebral too for my monthly check in. I wanted in-person but couldn’t find a trauma specialist taking new people near me.

I found a great therapist through Psychology Today that has a site for finding people therapists and it lists areas of expertise and types of therapy and costs. I found one who is very good with addictions issues and it has been very helpful and also enjoyable supportive therapy.

Ya they don’t take my insurance I have great insurance through my employer and also the have nothing in MI they said
They don’t work in MI? And they don’t take my insurance which is Priority Health
