Looking for advice!

I’ve been sober since april of last year - and things have looked up for me!

Im just struggling on things such as repairing damaged relationships, and basically trying to find my identity..

Just want to make sure that i’m making the most of my new found sobriety and motivation to suceed in life. I just feel like im still doing things wrong.. I am a very shy, reserved kind of person that has a very difficult time reaching out.. but todays the day!

I’ve been in and out of AA for years.. and it has helped, however I have not been to a meeting or even talked to someone that was or is in a similar situation as me.

So im reaching out - id love to talk, listen or share!

Thanks you!

Hi Jonathan, I was also a very shy person but it was because I was ashamed and scared and addicted - with each day in sobriety I have become more confident and proud of myself - and I’m telling everybody about it ! - the relationships you kind of have to wait on - they will forgive you or they won’t and you have to be prepared for either - give them time and space

Thank you for your response - I truly appreciate it!

How has your sobriety journey been so far? Do you attend AA?

I did AA, Celebrate Recovery and took DBT (dialectic behavior therapy) - it’s been great and an unexpected blessing

Remember. You can not control others reactions. 10-20 years of drunkeness will make a skeptic out of anyone.
Talk to your higher power and sponsor or sober support. 1 Day at time. Sobriety 1-12 and considering ourselves done will not work this a journey that will support learning always
