Looking for friends that are sober from alcohol and all drugs! I’m 4 years sober. But it’s Been a real struggle making friends who are on the same wavelength as myself.

Amen! I’ve reached a compromise: I don’t expect every one of my friends to be sober, but I do expect them to be mindful of my recovery. Baby steps, but it’s still something. There are plenty of people out there who indulge in substances but are respectful enough to abstain when around you.

I know the feeling. All I can say is you have to put yourself out there which is sometimes hard. Search your local community centers for sober events. Try coffee shops. Go to internet and look up sober events. Try to make friends in AA. I hope you find friends and continue your sobriety.

Agreed! I don’t have any friends who are sober but they’re very respectful when it comes to my sobriety. It still just feels very lonely. There’s no events in my area at all but I’m thinking about trying to build a community myself. And thank you I appreciate your comment!

I’m say this knowing nothing about the neighborhood, your interests etc, but two more things I’ve found immensely helpful: founding and maintaining a community garden, and joining a rec sports league.
