Looking for sober friends in the CT area! Finally going

Looking for sober friends in the CT area! Finally going to give this sober thing a real shot, I’m really sick of this game of chasing my tail…I am finally excepting I am powerless over alcohol and I have to admit I’m struggling a bit so maybe some sober interaction would help

Go to your App store and look up the Meeting Guide app. It's a blue logo with a white chair, it'll tell you when and where and how far meetings are to you. I'm sure you'll meet some people :relaxed:

This is my first time seeing your post in your profile on this app. I am not from Connecticut. But I would be willing to help you anyway that I possibly can. You excepted the first thing you had to it’s to admit that you’re in alcoholic. And you’re powerless over your disease. That’s the first step. Go to meetings find a sponsor ask for help whenever needed. Don’t be afraid that’s what we’re here for to help one another don’t understand and to get through what they are going through

Oh yeah by the way welcome to the family the big family

Are you ok? You have seemed to disappeared. If we follow a few simple rules and a few suggestions, we can find a way to live in peace and that is truly priceless. But it is a long journey in and a long journey out. The AA program amazes doctors and psychologist baffled. I had to either be all in this time or I might as well overdose and die. We have to get a sponsor as we have no experience anymore of being sober. It's hard to do things you don't want to do, but that's life. Are you able to make sobriety your number one priority

Welcome - like they told me ! Try it for a year if its not for you , we’ll refund all your misery at the door for free . Lmk if u need speak ! Gio

:rofl:love it.

Congrats on your 1st year+! What did you do differently this time? What did you learn about yourself?

That I needed to except it, and a lot of other things that have happened in my life…things were so out of control in my head for so long from past traumas and family genetics of mental illness and addiction..I had to recognize that and figure out away to move on from it and start new…I still struggle everyday but my struggles are leading to a brighter future and life has meaning now

I'm happy for you Kayla. I really am. I can identify with everything you said. It took me 20 years in and out before I came to realize what you just explained. It only gets better as long as we keep doing the work and help others change their lives for better. There will always be struggles. I call them challenges. Lessons to be learned and shared. Life is beautiful!

It will be the best decision you’ll ever make in your lifetime. You can do it. Find a AA meeting. The first one is the hardest. I just went to my first one Wednesday. Made myself go. I left there with a whole new outlook on things. Then I followed up the next day with another one. I’m actually looking forward to going now. It’s the best place to be.

Northwest corner of CT - glad you are focused on your sobriety - it works the same way for us all - one day at a time.

Hey friend. Just saw this post. Hope you're doing alright. Not an easy task by any means. I'm in southern MA and have developed a pretty great sober network here!
