Loosid Sober Tip of the Day April 16

Hitting rock bottom.

Many people talk about having to reach rock bottom before coming into a spiritual program of recovery.

But how do we know we have reached rock bottom?

The answer is simply when we decide to stop digging.

It is not necessary that we lose everything. It is not necessary to lose our job, lose our families, or lose our home.

We do not even need to decide whether or not we have a problem.

All that is needed is a desire to stop drinking (or drugging).

We often come to the realization that we have a problem once we are able to identify with others and hear their problems.

It is at this point that we look further into a spiritual journey of recovery. Though our experiences are different, the feelings of isolation and the need to get out of the now are the same.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

The short amount of sobriety time I have, I’ve heard all kinds of rock bottoms. My rock bottom is unique to me. I was giving this bottom as a lesson because of my stubbornness, my egotistical attitude and my pride. Because of recovery I’m humble. I see my faults quickly now. I apologize promptly when wrong. I’m grateful for the consequences I didn’t go through and the ones I did go through. I’m learning to see the world differently now. The good and bad are just events in one’s life. It’s how we perceive them that causes us resentments, fears and harms.

I definitely hit rock bottom and woke up one morning and reached for some sign of help or piece of hope I could possible find. Well here i am 90 days later thankful, grateful, blessed, sober, spiritual, and spent the day with my family and loved ones who are back in my life and care for me! I am so grateful for Loosid and how it opened up my eyes on one terribly lonely morning! I woke up and I am so blessed today!!! 90 days down, and on my way to each new day more! :pray:t3::pray:t3::pray:t3:
