Loosid Sober Tip of the Day April 19

Why me vs. Why Me

Many times, people ask to themselves, ‘Why did this happen to me?’ … ‘Why did I have to be an alcoholic (or addict)’ …‘Why can’t I drink?’… Why can I not control my drinking when so many people can?’

It is incredibly important to remember, there are two ways you can approach ‘why me’

There is another side of why me.

‘Why am I so lucky to have the ability to get better when so many others don’t?’

‘Why am I so lucky that I have a disease that is 100% treatable so long as I work a program on a daily basis?’

‘Why was I able to get the gifts of the program while so many other people are sick and suffering.’

‘Why am I so lucky to change my life and live in service to others… and to the same people I used to hurt?’

Choose to pick the right ‘why me’ today. If you are reading this it means you have started your journey to build a beautiful life

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. What’s your why me? There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

I always ask myself what would life be without drugs and drinking why me

My wife always scolds me, asking me why I can’t drink like all her friends husbands and just stop after a few. I just am not a good person . But I should be grateful that I recognize I have to stop.

Love and need to remember this!

I’m not someone that gets drunk on a daily basis. I at times drink not able to control. Then I say why me!!!

I’ve been having difficulties feeling gratitude lately which I had so much before. The “why me” mentality crept in. The “why am I so lucky to have the ability to get better…” resonated with me. I needed this.

I’ve asked myself this but I had a faulty, negative and dark perception and so I know I have to change the way I view things into a more positive view so I may continue staying sober and working on that light that shines deep inside of me. Why me? Because I am blessed with another day to do so. Thank YOU :crown::point_up:t4::pray:t4:🫶🏽

I love these daily Loosid Tips… every one of them resonates me in so many ways… again today it depicts me to the T! I thank my higher power every morning…

Why not me. If not Me. Who. If not now. When. I get to live a SOBER life full of new POSSIBILITIES AND DREAMS. I have 3 generations of alcoholism. And I'm the only one in my FAMILY in RECOVERY. I AM NOT APOLOGIZING FOR MY FORWARD PROGRESS IN RECOVERY. I'm not going to deny myself the Right to create a new Path for myself and future generations. THE DREAM. THE STRUGGLE. AND THE PRIZE.

Most people who are normal drinkers are still hurting themselves. We have been given the opportunity to be smarter, faster, stronger than those who would otherwise be our equals. Don't waste it.

I soooo needed this … I am currently asking God, “why did that man hurt me? I did nothing but care and support him; and he was supportive (until he wasn’t) … why me?
