Loosid Sober Tip of the Day April 24

Facing Life on Life’s Terms

When we get sober, we no longer numb out life’s problems.

We actually feel our feelings for the first time, and often times, for most of us, this can be very overwhelming.

Take solace in knowing that you are now facing life on life’s terms.

When you face life on life’s terms and find solutions to challenges as opposed to running away from them, you get better at life.

Will it be uncomfortable at first? Absolutely.

During this time, it is very important to reach out to other people who have been in recovery and have some sober reference.

These are the people who will get you through these challenging times.

In unity there is strength.

I'm starting over again. I really want sobriety, and to be good to the persons in my life.

It’s taken my quite some time to adjust knowing I need a sponsor and I need to do the steps, but now that I’ve finally found a good sponsor it’s just made the process a lot more smoother this time.

Reaching out is probably one of my most difficult challenges in life, but each day I wake up and force myself to reach out to my sponsor-even if I do feel stupid for having to reach out to someone to help me.

Working the AA program is the only thing that really works for me. The promises in the AA book really, truly, happen when I follow the suggestions. At its worst, sobriety in AA is better than any day I’ve ever had in active addiction. The 24 hour/7 days a week meetings on aahomegroup. org have been a lifesaver for me. :pray:t3:
