Loosid Sober Tip of the Day April 26

Finding the good in YOU.

Yesterday, we looked at finding the good in others. Hopefully, that has given you some very strong relief and freed up quite a bit of wasted energy on anger and resentment.

As we have heard countless times, resentment is the #1 offender.

Quite often, the person we most resent most in life is ourselves.

Just for today, focus on the good in you.

Most of us have harmed many people in our active addiction and have a hard time forgiving ourselves for what we have done.

Just for today, focus on the actions you have taken now that you have entered a new journey.

What have you done to be of service to others? What have you done that started you on this spiritual path?

If you are still new or are in active addiction, just by reading this daily tip shows great willingness to change. That is GOOD. Very GOOD.

If nothing comes to mind, think of what good you can do today to help others. Think of what good you can do to learn more about the path to recovery.

If you are confused or don’t know where to start, post below any questions you may have.

If you have been around a bit, please share with the community the GOOD about you and what you have been able to do since entering recovery.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I am also struggling in sobriety and staying away from friends and drugs. When I decide to try and stop drugs keeps coming my way to tempt me and haunt me as I go through the day being irritated and mad at the world because I’ve been asked to stay clean for three days but can’t stop the three days. I don’t know how to try to stay off drugs because I’m fed up with fighting them I’m exhausted from it and need some rest too tired I guess how do I recharge and get mad at drugs completely so that I won’t die out here in the streets. Seriously concerned!?

The good in me is my sobriety. Which in return, brings out the best in me. Most of the time. :innocent:

Hey Nichole. Focus on your victories and don’t let anger and irritation steal your attention. If you’re having trouble with the three days, focus on the one or two you successfully remained clean. All too often, when we set goals, we aim high and punish ourselves for setbacks. You’re the only person that matters, here. Every success, whether you add another day or another hour to your sobriety since the last time, is a victory. And those victories build up our resilience and our drive to do better and be better. But when we focus on the frustration of not being exactly where we want to be, we lose that drive that was awarded to us. If you progress at all, you’ve already won. Remember small battles win wars!

Wowwwww I definitely needed to see this today :sob: Life has been throwing me some real curveballs lately and it’s really gotten me down…still sober by the grace of my higher power. I have to just dust myself off and keep trying to do good things for others.

What if doing something good for someone at this moment may not be good for you but it would be helping them.

Yep. I’m not doing these things for myself.

Okay
