Loosid Sober Tip of the Day Aug 04

Finding the good in YOU.

Yesterday, we looked at finding the good in others. Hopefully, that has given you some very strong relief and freed up quite a bit of wasted energy on anger and resentment.

As we have heard countless times, resentment is the #1 offender.

Quite often, the person we most resent most in life is ourselves.

Just for today, focus on the good in you.

Most of us have harmed many people in our active addiction and have a hard time forgiving ourselves for what we have done.

Just for today, focus on the actions you have taken now that you have entered a new journey.

What have you done to be of service to others? What have you done that started you on this spiritual path?

If you are still new or are in active addiction, just by reading this daily tip shows great willingness to change. That is GOOD. Very GOOD.

If nothing comes to mind, think of what good you can do today to help others. Think of what good you can do to learn more about the path to recovery.

If you are confused or don’t know where to start, post below any questions you may have.

If you have been around a bit, please share with the community the GOOD about you and what you have been able to do since entering recovery.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Good morning everyone! September 28 I will have been in recovery for two years but recently on May 12 I have gotten out of the abusive mentally physically emotionally bad relationship. We move to another town together and I decided to get me an apartment in the next town over, which I do not know anyone here and I also had to get a protective order on him so that is my most a number one boundary that I have placed for myself and that was good for me. It has been lonely, but I have my support group and I’m seeing a therapist and 9 yards to psychiatrist and working on me. I have recently went back to Stratford career Institute. I started a drug and alcohol specialist certification back in 2022 I had five exams left. I was hoping to I had a 3.8 GPA but the last couple of exams have been like 8483 so I don’t know my personal goal is to get that certificate with high honors, but hey at least I’m finishing something. I started five years ago right? I have been I got a surgery done on my foot that I was needing and I have five screws in it even though I live on the second floor apartment with no help no weight bearing and 25 lbs later still sober I got my walking cast off two weeks ago, so I’m learning how to walk again! It’s definitely Ben a 100 struggle, but I’m still sober. But in March, I got a bracelet on my leg and I’m on it till August 2027. So those are just a few good things that I feel good about myself. I definitely would not have been any of those things if I was still in that toxic relationship! Never thought I would get out of it still struggling with why I still love him, but I’m getting therapy so there’s other addictions like trauma bond than just alcohol and drug addictions. I used to do methamphetamine that was my choice of Drug. I’m so glad that I have gotten away from it and I feel better now I’m just healing from the relationship so anybody out there that is struggling today I encourage you. It’s never too late to get back up and start over again I’m 55 years old and I feel like life is just beginning for me. I can’t wait to grow old and hopefully it was somebody and rocking a rocking chair and watch my grandchildren. The great grandchildren grow God is good if you don’t have anyone else lean on God for your higher power! Have a great day thanks for being here
