Loosid Sober Tip of the Day August 11

Action, Reaction and Inaction.

We often think we are responsible for our actions.

Remember, at any time, we are responsible for three things: Our actions, our reactions and our inactions.

Ironically, inaction is often the most powerful.

This may mean restraint of pen and tongue by not sending that nasty text, email or phone response to someone who hurt you.

It may also mean sitting quietly with yourself and observing your thoughts and settling your mind.

Actions and reactions are very powerful as well.

Write down your actions, reactions and inactions from the last day. Then take an inventory to see what inactions were not useful and should have been acted upon.

Do the same for actions and reactions. You will get better each day. It just takes a bit of practice.

This is really good! I have alot of inaction that needs to change!!

Good advice? Thx!

I need to work on my reactions.

I have a friend that listens to me. Even if we don’t talk we text and I tell him everything I did that day and can express my feelings to him.. he’s one of those that still drinks in moderation.. a beer or a glass of wine in the evening or with meals.. and he understands.. I’ve grateful to have him as a sounding board as such.. I’m always better after I get things off my chest.. just to have someone listen plus I write things down or go to a meeting.. after over 20 years I still take one day at a time..

Try doing that again with a newcomer and give back what was so freely given.

People need your experience, strength and HOPE!!!
