Loosid Sober Tip of the Day August 25

We are as sick as our secrets.

This is a common expression used in recovery. It is important to feel our feelings and share with people what’s going on with the challenges in our lives.

What we hold inside builds up like a slow boil which at some point will manifest itself in some way, shape or form.

If you are struggling, share your struggles today.

If it’s something that is personal, be sure to share it with a trusted, close-mouthed friend. In 12-Step programs this is normally reserved for a sponsor.

In other settings, it may be more suitable for a professional.

What you need to know is that asking for help is something you should never be ashamed of but rather one to be proud of as you are taking steps to work through your challenges.

It is an act of power and courage.

Free yourself today by letting out what is inside of you and ask for help.

You are worth it.

Get it out!! And remember to give it to God too!!

True but unfortunately some things go to the grave.

I’ve learned to get really honest with MYSELF in my recovery about my role in my problems. I’m :100: honest with my sponsor and that was vulnerable and uncomfortable BUT I grew in my recovery ❤‍🩹

Some past traumas can keep me sick. Working the twelve steps I shared honestly things I could’ve taken to the grave. It healed and calmed me to admit these things to another person.

Thx!

This definitely resonates with me as I tend to come across as reserved to others who don't know me well. I have some social anxiety because I don't really do well at all with small talk and have trouble getting to know people because of that. But this message is a great reminder of how important it is to try to get over that.

I meeting I go to one man always says that.
It’s true.

My advice is to share with person. Not people.id rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies

Love it! There is a huge element of courage within vulnerability. Sharing our secrets and struggles breaks the bondage of keeping us sick, and as a result vulnerability makes us stronger. Good read! :heavy_heart_exclamation:
