Loosid Sober Tip of the Day December 2

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12-Step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it quickly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I have been sober for many years
The last 3 years of my life has been very difficult . Went through a divorce after 34 years of marriage.
I'm having a very tough time getting into a routine
Any suggestions?

Commitment devices and immediate rewards : start a new habit by making the commitment with another person (ex: you meet a person to go on a daily walk). Or reward yourself for food behavior : only watch your favorite show when you're going to the gym.

Try making it easier and more pleasurable to do the things you "should" do. Try making it harder to do the thing you don't want to do

Church groups are a good start. Or a center for spiritual living.
One that I’ve found to be wonderful was Joel S. Goldsmith’s books on spirituality. These books are teachings and offer a wonderful way into spiritual living.

I've been sober for 5 months but I have yet to work a program. Please no comments but because of covid I'm afraid to be in large meeting groups. Any online help would be appreciated.
