Loosid Sober Tip of the Day December 28

Identify, don’t compare.

When we come into a spiritual program of recovery, many of us will find that we compare our stories with others.

We may feel we have not reached the desperate levels others have or, alternatively, we may look at our stories and think that we have had a much rougher time.

It is not our job to take the inventory of others.

It is very important never to compare stories, but rather identify with the feelings.
Look for the similarities, not the differences.

When we focus on similarities, we will invariably find them.

Good read and so true. When I first started my recovery I would often think, I’m not as bad off as him /her. I was so wrong. I quickly learned we all have the same disease of addiction.

Today I often find myself in the shares I hear. I am grateful.

Coming into recovery I thought that I would be judged my insecurities were very high but as time passed you find that we are all here trying to live trying to help one another I love this program it has saved so many lives to comfort another person especially in early recovery is what it’s about never compare sometimes all it takes is someone caring enough to listen I hope everyone has a beautiful day :pray:t3::heart::blush:

I am slowly learning that I cannot compare to anyone else. Our lives and our stories are different. One moment at a time !

:+1: thank you
